EPOXY FLOORING

Driveway Epoxy Floor in Newtown

  • Location: Newtown, Toowoomba QLD
  • Project Type: Residential - Driveway and Path
  • Service Type: Epoxy Floor
  • Completed: July 2026

Project Overview in Newtown

Properties Unlimited Group completed an epoxy flooring project for a driveway and small path in Newtown, Toowoomba QLD. The existing concrete showed typical wear, staining and surface cracking from vehicle traffic and weather exposure.

The combined area measured approximately 42 m². Work began with diamond grinding and dust extraction to open the concrete pores, followed by repairs to cracks and surface imperfections using fast-acting Ardit compound. Extra grinding was completed at the transition where vehicles scrape. After vacuuming, a bonding primer was applied, then a 100% solids epoxy base coat in light grey. Premium acrylic flakes in Volcanic Ash from the Stonegrip range were broadcast to full rejection. Excess flake was removed once set, and a clear polyaspartic topcoat sealed the system.

The finished surface is durable, slip-resistant and easy to clean, providing a consistent speckled finish suited to daily vehicle use. A 10-year warranty was issued on completion.

The Process

1

Surface Preparation

We diamond grind the concrete with dust extraction, opening the surface pores for maximum mechanical fuse. Any cracks or pitting are repaired with fast-acting Ardit compound and vacuumed clean.

2

Primer Coat

A bonding primer is applied to the prepared slab. This seals the concrete and creates the adhesion layer that locks everything above it in place. It also prevents moisture vapour from pushing up through the system.

3

100% Solids Epoxy Base

A high-density polymer epoxy base coat is applied in light grey. This high-solids formula eliminates voids in the concrete surface and provides the structural foundation of the floor.

4

Tight-Knit Flake Broadcast

Premium acrylic colour flakes are broadcast into the wet base coat for full rejection coverage. Excess flake is removed once set, leaving a tight, even finish with uniform impact resistance across the entire slab.

5

Polyaspartic Shield

A clear polyurethane or polyaspartic topcoat seals the system. Non-porous, cross-linking polymers provide chemical isolation, UV stability, and the slip rating that makes the floor safe in wet conditions.
