Not just a tile.
Not just solar.
Tractile is a fibreglass composite roofing system designed specifically for Australian conditions. It integrates solar electricity generation and solar hot water directly into the roofline — no exposed panels, no brackets, no compromise on appearance.
The result is a cleaner, stronger, smarter roof. Tractile has won multiple Australian and international design awards, and Properties Unlimited Group is the official Queensland distributor and installer for Tractile Roofing.
As a local roofing team serving Ipswich and Toowoomba, we manage the full process — from site assessment and system design through to commissioning and handover. The installation itself is carried out in partnership with Alpha Roofing, our roofing partner on every Tractile project.

Tractile vs. traditional roofing
If you're spending money on a new roof, Tractile is the option that protects your home, adds value, and reduces your energy bills — all at once.
Concrete Tiles
Concrete tiles are heavy, brittle over time, and offer nothing beyond shelter. Tractile is four times lighter, installs faster, handles hail and extreme winds significantly better, and gives you the option to generate electricity and solar hot water from the same surface.
Metal Roofing
Metal roofing can corrode in humid Queensland conditions and offers no energy benefit. Tractile's fibreglass composite is non-corrosive by design — no rusting, no flaking — and eliminates the need for a separate solar installation on top of the roof.
Panels on a Standard Roof
Traditional solar panels require mounting hardware, penetrations into your roof, and wiring runs that can create leak points. They also alter your roofline visually. Tractile integrates solar directly into the tile system — no external panels visible from the street, no warranty risks.
Choose the right Tractile system
Tractile is available in three main configurations. We'll help you choose the right combination based on your roof, your energy needs, and your budget.
Standard Tractile Roof
All the structural and durability benefits — fibreglass composite tile, interlocking hook-and-batten fixing, bushfire and hail ratings — without the solar component. The right starting point if you want a premium, long-lasting roof and aren't ready to commit to solar yet.
Tractile Solar Electricity
Solar tiles integrated into the roof alongside standard Tractile tiles to generate electricity for your home. A correctly sized system can power an average four-person household. Compatible with most popular inverter brands and all major home battery storage systems.
Solar Electricity + Hot Water
The full system — generates both electricity and solar heated water from the same roof. Up to 55% efficient per square metre. Ideal for larger homes and households with pools, spas, floor heating, or high hot water demand. All configurations can be mixed across the same roof.
Built for South-East Queensland conditions
SEQ presents some of Australia's most demanding roofing conditions. Tractile is purpose-built for exactly this environment.
Hail, Storms & High Winds
Summer thunderstorms and hail events are common across the Darling Downs — particularly November through March. Tractile's certified resistance to 65mm hailstones and winds up to 266 km/h means it performs where standard tiles and metal roofing struggle. Elevated blocks on the Toowoomba range also benefit from the interlocking tile system, which provides measurable advantages over clip-fixed alternatives in high-wind zones.
Humidity & Corrosion Resistance
Humidity and temperature swings across Ipswich, Springfield, and Redbank Plains create long-term corrosion challenges for metal roofing. Tractile's fibreglass composite eliminates corrosion entirely — no rusting, no flaking, no paint degradation over time. For homeowners in growth corridors like Springfield Lakes and Redbank Plains, Tractile also integrates cleanly into modern home designs where street appeal and energy performance both matter.

Tractile FAQ
What roof pitches does Tractile suit?
Tractile is suitable for roof pitches from 10 to 90 degrees, covering the full range of residential roof styles found across Queensland — from low-pitch modern homes to steep traditional designs.
Can Tractile be installed on an existing roof?
Yes. Tractile suits both new builds and reroof projects. In most cases it can be installed over existing batten structures, though this is confirmed during your site assessment.
Does Tractile work with my existing inverter and battery?
Tractile solar tiles are compatible with most popular inverter brands and all major home battery storage systems. We confirm compatibility during your design consultation.
How long does a Tractile installation take?
Most residential roofs are completed in 2–3 days by a 2–3 person team. Tractile tiles are four times lighter than concrete and six times larger in format, which significantly reduces installation time compared to traditional tiling.
Is Tractile available in different colours?
Yes. Standard Tractile tiles are available in a range of colours. For solar tile arrays, Tractile recommends Monument dark grey as the best colour match. Custom colours for non-solar tiles are available on request.
Is Tractile suitable for bushfire-prone areas?
Yes. Tractile is rated BAL-40, making it suitable for properties in designated bushfire attack level zones across Queensland.
