Properties Unlimited Group completed an epoxy flooring project for the front patio, path and steps of a home in Centenary Heights, Toowoomba QLD. The existing concrete surfaces had worn paint and surface staining from regular outdoor use and weather exposure.
The scope covered the front patio and path in a Stonegrip flake system, with the vertical faces of the brick steps finished in a non-slip colour coat. Work began with diamond grinding and dust extraction to open the concrete pores and remove the old coating. Any surface imperfections were repaired, then the area was vacuumed clean. A bonding primer was applied, followed by a 100% solids epoxy base coat. Premium acrylic flakes in Sandstone from the Stonegrip range were broadcast to full rejection across the patio and path. Excess flake was removed once set, and a clear polyaspartic topcoat sealed the system. The brick steps received a dedicated non-slip coating that follows the existing brick pattern while improving grip.
The finished surfaces are durable, slip-resistant and easy to clean, with a consistent speckled Sandstone appearance suited to outdoor living. A 10-year warranty was issued on completion.
We diamond grind the concrete with dust extraction, opening the surface pores for maximum mechanical fuse. Any cracks or pitting are repaired with fast-acting Ardit compound and vacuumed clean.
A bonding primer is applied to the prepared slab. This seals the concrete and creates the adhesion layer that locks everything above it in place. It also prevents moisture vapour from pushing up through the system.
A high-density polymer epoxy base coat is applied in light grey. This high-solids formula eliminates voids in the concrete surface and provides the structural foundation of the floor.
Premium acrylic colour flakes are broadcast into the wet base coat for full rejection coverage. Excess flake is removed once set, leaving a tight, even finish with uniform impact resistance across the entire slab.
A clear polyurethane or polyaspartic topcoat seals the system. Non-porous, cross-linking polymers provide chemical isolation, UV stability, and the slip rating that makes the floor safe in wet conditions.
